Little League teams fight through season enders

Wickenburg Little League Minors and Majors level All Star teams fought hard in their respective tournaments in Wickenburg and Prescott in the last two weeks.  Though Wickenburg teams were eliminated early, the players and coaches had many great moments through four games total.

The minors team, made up of local players ages 9 and 10, took on powerhouse Prescott in their first game, taking a hard loss on their first night of tournament.  The second game against Verde Valley had the boys coming back from behind to rally to within two runs.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough, as they lost the game 8-11, eliminating them from the tournament.

Wickenburg’s Majors team, the 11 and 12-year-olds, lost in back-to-back games during the Prescott portion of the tournament.  Though the final scores were not what they had hoped for, the boys played their hearts out and held their own against more powerful teams, according to WLL representatives.

Wickenburg Little League is looking for board members for the 2020 season. For more information on becoming a board member or getting involved contact board president Joetta Earls at (928)671-1052.
