All three runners on Wickenburg High School’s cross country team this past fall earned recognition at the season-ending team awards banquet last week.

Sophomore Madison Roddy was presented the Mileage Award for logging 185.25 miles this season and also picked up the Most Improved Award.

Simon Della Ratta, the only competitor on the boys team, earned the Outstanding Freshman honor.

Freshman Natalie Maley received the special Coach’s Barubbe Award.

All three received junior varsity certificates.

The awards ceremony was conducted at the Saguaro Blossom Cafe on the Wickenburg High School campus. After the dessert potluck feast, Coach Doug Clementz briefly summarized the season and then was presented with a signed card of thanks from the runners following his “hearty thank you” to the small team of runners.
