Wickenburg Christian Academy Archery Club was part of a field of 484 archers from 41 schools across the state at Ben Avery FITA Range last week for the final state qualifier shoot before the state tournament in February.

Two WCA archers ranked in the top 10 for their age groups this shoot. On 3D (animal) targets, Ben Armstrong placed fifth for high school boys with a score of 273/300. Ingrid Aguilar took eighth place for elementary girls, tallying 204/300.

WCA had 19 archers in grades 5-11 who attended the event, and 14 had personal best scores for at least one of their events. The team continues to grow and improve with each shoot; the coaches are looking forward to seeing how well the team will do at the state tournament at the end of February.

WCA is a part of the National Archery in the Schools Program, sponsored by Arizona Game and Fish Department.
