Player registration for the Fall 2019 AYSO soccer season will be held on Saturday, July 27, and Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Wickenburg Community Center.

All players ages 3 - 18 1/2 who are interested in playing soccer can register. Registration fees are $60 and can be paid by cash, check, or credit card. All registered players will receive a soccer uniform consisting of a jersey, shorts, socks, soccer accident insurance and a player award at the end of the season.

Practices for all teams will begin late August at Sunset Park. Each team will play at least nine games during the season. The first games of the season have been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7.  This does not include the traveling teams of 14u and up.

The AYSO soccer program teaches youth how to play soccer in a fun, family focused environment.  In this program, all players play in at least half of each game. Teams are balanced as much as possible to create competitive games.  Coaches are trained to teach soccer in a positive manner.  All youth aged 3-18 1/2 are eligible to play regardless of skill, fitness level, or experience. Sportsmanship, player safety, and skill development are the primary focus of coaching.

This soccer program is run entirely through the efforts of volunteers consisting of board members, referees, coaches, concession stand helpers and field maintenance assistance. AYSO estimates having 26 teams this season and would like to have a head coach and assistant coach for each. In order to have games for 10u through 19u, referees are needed. This season, they are short-handed for referees as many previous referees were high school students earning community service hours and are now off to college. There are free, online training classes available for volunteers in their specific position, so no upfront knowledge is necessary.

All volunteers are required to be certified in AYSO’s Safe Haven safety program as well as Concussion Awareness. Coaches need to be certified for their division, which most courses are online. For referees, there is a basic course online and then a few hours in class, which is held locally. For those who need community service hours, this is a way to gain multiple hours in a short period of time. To coach, the minimum age is 18, and to referee, volunteers must be at least 14.

AYSO has mandated an online registration program for both players and volunteers, which can be accessed through  Pre-registration online is recommended. Computers will be available at the registration. For player registrations bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate.

AYSO always looking for team sponsors. AYSO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Funds received provide for scholarships as well as purchasing and maintaining equipment.
