A lot of people are “deadline oriented.”

Some might call them procrastinators.

Others would say they are busy people with a long list of carefully placed priorities. They will get to it – right in the nick of time.

It is officially the nick of time for the Wickenburg Mayoral Election. All ballots must be received in the mail or drop boxes by 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21.

According to the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office, as of Monday evening, 2,246 of the 4,935 ballots mailed out had been returned.

So less than half of those who could vote have voted. Sixty-five percent of Yavapai County voters inside town limits have mailed their ballots back. That’s likely to be due to many of the residents of Wickenburg Ranch taking the time to vote. They set a good example for those who may have lived here longer and might have grown complacent to what’s going on at Town Hall.

Forty-four percent of Maricopa County voters have responded.

Applause to those who have voted.

For those who have not, today is the day.
