Edward Ali Perret Jr.

Edward Ali Perret Jr. (Ed), age 78, of Wickenburg, passed away Sept. 25, 2019.

Ed was born May 16, 1941 in New Britain, Conn., to Edward Ali Perret Sr. and Viola Eleanor Griswold. After residing in Connecticut, the family moved to Seattle, Washington in 1957.

After graduating from Bellevue High School, Ed attended the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1964.

Ed went to work after graduation for the General Electric Company in their Manufacturing Training Program.  His first assignment was in Coshocton, Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Juanita.   Their marriage and his work assignments then took them to Florida, Arizona, California and finally back to Wickenburg, Arizona in 1997, where they retired.

Ed was a keen intellect and always enjoyed creating things.  He finally started his own business, setting up and running a machine shop, taking drawings from customers and turning them into products.  He was much happier in this environment than “working for the man.”

Ed’s second love was his motorcycles, especially the British variety – he owned countless BSA’s and Triumph’s, along with other brands, including German, Japanese and American iron.  He would build and rebuild bikes and was always machining parts for his and his friend’s motorcycles.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita and his sister, Gail Butterworth.

Ed is survived by his brother, Hank, and his wife, Mary.

Special thanks go to Aging with Dignity (Adrian and Carmen Moisoiu) in Surprise not only for taking care of Ed for the last seven and a half years, but for caring deeply for Ed as well. Also, thanks go to Hospice of the Valley and to Charlie New, who faithfully visited Ed nearly every week for those seven and a half years.

No formal services are planned.   Friends may offer online condolences at www.wickenburgfuneralhome.com.   Arrangements made under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.
