Norman Lee “Mike” McFall

Mike McFall, 84, of Congress and Custer, S.D. passed away Oct. 17 in his home at North Ranch Escapee RV Resort.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Esther McFall; his brother Richard McFall; sons Michael and Scott McFall and daughter-in-law Ann McFall (Scott’s wife). Survivors include his “bride” Patricia McFall; son Patrick McFall (Michelle); his bride’s children, Lisa Paul (Randy), Terri Roddenberry, Gus Powell, Kelli Scott, Scott Powell (Shelley); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.

Mike’s body has been donated to science for prostate cancer research. He had been battling prostate cancer for 20-plus years. He was a “guinea pig” in every study and trial known to science so we decided this would be the perfect way to end his journey.

We will have lots of pictures and memorabilia at the Celebration of Mike’s Life from his rodeo and bullfighting days, his Nebraska State Patrol days, his career as an insurance executive and last but not least, as a Custer State Park Ranger.

Mike led an exciting life and fulfilled a lot of the things on his long “bucket list.” To name a few, he was a bull rider, rodeo clown, racecar driver, pilot, Harley rider, sky diver, certified parachute packer, scuba diver, and the list goes on.

A tentative date for the Celebration of Mike’s Life is on Mike and Pat’s 33rd wedding anniversary, Feb. 7, 2020. A definite date, time and place will be announced after the first of the year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Valley.
