March 9, 1987 - June 20, 2019
Michael Nathan Musick, aka “Toad”, 32 passed away suddenly on June 20, 2019, in Rockford, Tenn. Born March 9, 1987, in Artesia, Calif., to Buddy and Cheryl Musick, Michael grew up in Arizona, after the family relocated to Wickenburg on Jan. 1, 1988. Michael was an avid skateboarder and founding member of the Wickenburg Skate Club, committed to the design and building project of the Wickenburg Skate Park, which commenced at the grand opening on May 22, 2004.
Those who knew Michael recognized him for his humor, compassion, love and devotion, first to his daughter, and then family and friends. Michael was a talented tattoo artist, and was known as a “Hippie” of sorts, who loved tie-dye, punk rock, reggae music, unique hats and beanies, and funky hairstyles such as his Mohawk, Liberty Spikes and Dreadlocks. Michael resided in Tennessee for the past eight years to be close to his daughter, though he often spoke of his longing to return to Arizona some day. He loved the outdoors and spent time fishing, camping and hiking.
Michael is preceded in death by his older sister Misty Brooke Musick-Sanchez, and a nephew, baby Lincoln Everett Snyder.
He is survived by his daughter Capri Elaine Musick; his parents; grandmothers, Rose Musick, and Donna Smith; siblings Brian Musick (Heather), Janelle Snyder (Travis), (Mark) Sanchez, Shannon Musick, Josh Musick, (Brent)Mickle; nephews and nieces, Carlos Lockett, Brendon Lockett, Josiah Sanchez, Ayaden Musick, Alexis Musick, Emmett Mickle, Jonah Snyder and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at Wickenburg Community Center, 160 N. Valentine St., Wickenburg, AZ on July 28 at 1 p.m. The family requests casual dress and tie-dye preferred. A meal will follow the service and participation in creating a tie dye memory blanket for Capri. Arrangements provided by David’s Desert Chapel.
