US 60 Closed due to collision, power pole down, gas leak

US 60 is closed in both directions this morning due to a vehicle collision. A pickup truck apparently rolled into a power pole, breaking the pole which then fell onto a high pressure gas line, causing a leak in the gas line. Wickenburg Fire, Police, DPS, ADOT, Lifeline Ambulance, APS and Southwest Gas are working the scene. APS has shut off power to the line, so the power is out for many residences and businesses on along the river from Wickenburg to San Domingo Wash. Southwest Gas is working to shut off the leak.  The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries and is still on the scene.

As of 9 a.m. WFD did not have an estimate on when the road will reopen.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at, by calling 511 and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT. When a freeway closure or other major traffic event occurs, our free app available at will send critical information directly to app users in affected areas – where possible, in advance of alternate routes.
