Three shots rang out in the early morning hours Friday waking residents in a 24-unit condominium complex in the 800 block of Poppy Street.
No injuries or property damage was reported.
Wickenburg Police wrote in a release that it first received a loud music complaint at about 1:30 a.m. regarding a vehicle with a male subject sitting in a vehicle having arrived in the complex parking lot playing loud music. Before police responded, the initial reporting party called back about six minutes later reporting that a gunshot rang out and the male was seen standing between the rear of the vehicle.
The dispatcher taking the call heard another gunshot (there was a total of three), and the caller continued providing information to dispatch regarding the male subject who was alleged to have fired the shots.
WPD officers arrived on scene and found the subject, a resident of the complex, and detained him for questioning. Officers collected evidence at the scene, and the 29-year-old male subject was placed under arrest.
WPD Support Services Lt. Amy Sloane told The Sun the department would not be releasing the name of the subject until Tuesday, Jan. 21.
The subject was taken to Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix. Specific charges were not available as of Saturday, Jan. 18.
