On Thursday, Oct. 10, the Aguila Elementary School, classes pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade, participated in a Fire Safety Program at the Aguila Volunteer Fire Department. Sparky the Fire Dog was there to greet the students. The students watched a video and also had the opportunity to observe several of the fire cadets in full turn-out gear. There was a coloring contest with a safety theme included, with each class having three winners.  Sundance Pizza helped the fire department with certificates so that they were able to make this a special event for the kids. Three lucky students won a ride to school in a fire truck. Safety materials were handed out for the students to take home and share with their families.

Aguila Elementary boys and girls volleyball teams have had an impressive start to the season. This year’s volleyball season consists of 10 games. They will be playing more games as follows, Aguila at Festival on the Monday, Oct. 21, home verses Canon on the Tuesday, Oct 22, and home verses Congress on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
