Volleyball season wraps up; basketball tips off

The Central Mountain League 2019-2020 Volleyball Tournament was held at the Wickenburg High School on Friday, Nov. 1.  The Aguila Boys Team won first place in the tournament and the Festival Girls Team won first place in the tournament. The placing of the Morristown Elementary boys and girls teams were unknown at the time of this publication.

The Morristown Elementary basketball games have begun. Next games are Wednesday, Dec. 4, (at home) against Aguila at 4 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 5, (away) against Canon at 3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Coach, Miss Perry at (623) 546-5100.

Morristown Elementary will be hosting its annual  Thanksgiving luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the school. Family members are invited to come and enjoy a Thanksgiving lunch with their child or children. The cost is $3.50 for adults and $2.75 for children. On the menu is turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie. Call the school office at (623) 546-5100 for more information and to make reservations.

Morristown Elementary will be closed  from Wednesday, Nov. 27 to Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of Thanksgiving.

The GFWC Morristown Volunteer Library is open every Tuesday from 3 - 5 p.m. and every Thursday from 3 - 5:30 p.m. (except holidays), in Old Main (the Yellow/East Room), located between the Post Office and Morristown Elementary. Available at the library are free reliable Wi-Fi, with laptops, printers and a copier/fax machine. The library strives to meet the needs of the community for both adults and children. All staff are volunteers and volunteers are always needed. Contact Linda de Berge at (602) 509-1012, for more information.

Donations of the following will also be accepted at the Library: plastic bottle caps; aluminum can pull tabs (in association with the Ronald McDonald house); plastic and paper grocery bags, canned and dried food (in association with the Saguaro Janes in Wittmann); used jet ink cartridges; used prescription eye glasses, used A,B,C,D and 9 Volt batteries; used light bulbs and remember those Box Tops for Education for the PTSA of Morristown Elementary.
