Wickenburg Community Hospital (WCH) recently welcomed three new providers to the WCH health care system.  Tanner Moore, DPM, podiatric surgeon, Juan Vasquez, MD, physician of internal medicine, and Blair L. Funk, MD, physician of family medicine are scheduled to start practicing at the WCH clinics in July.

Moore specializes in all aspects of foot and ankle care, including surgical reconstruction, diabetic management, sports medicine and wound care. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a BS in exercise science, Moore earned a medical degree at the California School of Podiatric Medicine and then went on to complete his podiatric residency at Intermountain Medical Center, Utah. Moore is relocating to the area with his wife and four daughters and is looking forward to providing comprehensive podiatric services on a full-time basis in the community and getting to know his patients.

Vasquez is a board-certified physician of internal medicine specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases, with special interest in outpatient preventative care. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Vasquez earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School before going on to complete his internal medicine residency through the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Vasquez is relocating to Wickenburg with his wife and has a passion for providing quality care in a smaller community.

As a physician of family medicine Funk specializes in comprehensive health care for people of all ages, with special interest in women’s health, as well as lifestyle, diet, nutrition and integrative healthcare. A graduate of the University of Miami, Funk earned her medical degree from the University of Miami (Leonard M. Miller) School of Medicine and then went on to complete her residency at Emory University Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Blair is relocating to Wickenburg because of her desire to live in a smaller community where she can get to know her patients and make a difference in their lives.

The addition of a full-time surgical podiatrist means that podiatric visits, diagnostics and surgical procedures will be available Monday through Friday with on-call emergency care, nights and weekends.  In addition, Vasquez Funk will be working to expand primary care services at WCH Community Clinics, Congress and Wittmann.

“The expansion of our medical team is in keeping with our long-range strategic plan to offer a comprehensive health delivery system that makes access to localized health services increasingly more prevalent. This is really an example of growing to meet the needs of the communities we serve,” said WCH CEO Jim Tavary.

A nonprofit organization established in 1926; Wickenburg Community Hospital, along with its Community Hospital Clinics located in Wickenburg, Wittmann and Congress, is committed to providing quality health and wellness services where the patient, family and community come first. Wickenburg Community Hospital is federally designated as a Critical Access Hospital and state designated as a Level IV Trauma Center supporting the needs of residents and surrounding rural communities within approximately 3,300 square miles with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical and healthcare services.
