Mike Beck shares celebration of the horse

Monterey based cowboy Mike Beck’s life has been wrapped up in horses and music, so it’s only natural that he combines both his passions together in one show.

The Ponies is a complete evening of songs written by Beck and a few others, plus stories of his life’s work in the pursuit of coming together with the horse through a harmonious approach to bring out the best in both horse and human.

Beck draws on a life spent with amazing teachers such as Bill and Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and many others, and a life as a working cowboy using the horse to do a job on ranches in the western United States.

This is in no way just a cowboy show, rather a celebration of the ancient draw and connection between man and horse, through song and story.

The show is sponsored by The Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce, and held at the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center On March 7 at 7 p.m. Admission is $20. Tickets are available at the chamber office. For more information call (928) 684-5479.
