| The Wickenburg Community Chorus rehearses for its Christmas performances |
Members of the Wickenburg Community Chorus, under the direction of Kay Anderson and assisted by accompanist Joan Fradenburgh, rehearse for their Christmas concert.
Two performances are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20. The first will take place at 3 p.m. at Mount Hope Assembly of God Church at 550 West Penn Lane, and the second will be at 6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at West Wickenburg Way and Lazy Fox Road.
The choral work entitled “A Christmas Festival” is arranged and orchestrated by Bob Krogstad to include renditions of familiar carols combined in a choral, soloist and even audience-participation format. Director Anderson expressed appreciation for the effort chorus members put forth in learning the music and she enjoys seeing, “the look of pleasure on their faces” when they succeed in producing beautiful sounds together as a “well-tuned ensemble.”
Past choristers and newcomers alike are invited to sing with the chorus.
Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the West Park Community Center 2501 West Wickenburg Way, in the Clubhouse. For more information, call Ruth Schlecht at 684-5567.
