Home Tour, Holiday Market this Saturday
 |
| One of the featured homes on this year’s Las Senoras de Socorro Home Tour and Holiday Market |
Take the long flagstone driveway from the street to this week’s featured home on the 28th Annual Las Senoras de Socorro Home Tour and Holiday Market, to be held this Saturday (Nov. 1) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The owners are horse lovers and have decorated their 4700-square-foot home with many wonderful Western and Native American artworks, including several large bronze sculptures, some beautiful metal wall sculptures, paintings, saddles displayed as art, and a Hungarian water flask made with a horsehair cover.
With beautiful mountain vistas and gorgeous landscaping surrounding this home, visitors will enjoy its open airiness, the many large windows and arched transoms, and the patios off nearly every room. The entry is impressive, leading into a large great room with a wet bar, a breakfast area and an open kitchen with cherry cabinets and granite counters. There are three guest bedrooms, two with their own baths, a game room with a pool table, a formal dining room, an office, laundry room, and an oversized three-car garage with workshop area.
The backyard ramada with an outdoor kitchen and a large dining table makes this home ideal for year-round living. Metal wall sculptures surround the stacked rock walls of the ramada and decorate the walls around the backyard.
Begin the Home Tour day with a stop at the Holiday Market at the Community Center to purchase gifts, coffee and treats. This year’s Holiday Market offers jewelry, home d/cor and furniture, basketry, art works, clothing and accessories, leather goods, beauty products, and more. Lunch can be purchased for $8 and includes a choice of sandwich, salad, chips, dessert and a drink. Tickets to tour the homes are $20 and may be purchased in advance at the Museum, or on the day of the Tour at the Museum and the Community Center, and includes admission to the Museum.
As an additional highlight to the Home Tour, Grand Canyon artist Bruce Aiken will make a personal appearance at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum from 10 a.m. to noon to autograph copies of the new book, “Bruce Aiken’s Grand Canyon: An Intimate Affair.”
All proceeds from the Home Tour support the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. For additional information, call Home Tour Chairs Monica Lambert 684-3429 or Janie Ruoti 684-8761.
