Animal hides wanted
The Elks are once again collecting animal hides to help veterans.
Anyone who has a hunting permit and gets lucky in the hunt is asked to bring the animal hide to the Elks Lodge on Frontier Street.
The hide should be dried out overnight, salted if possible. The next morning, fold in the sides, roll the hide up and tie it. Keep hides in the shade and do not put them in plastic bags.
Deer and elks hides are valuable and should not be wasted. All hides are tanned and go to the veterans’ hospitals.
