What does a Wickenburg Town Council member do?
Go to committee meetings, research the facts, talk to the residents, listen to the people, make positive changes and additions for the betterment of its residents and future of the children, fight against injustices as well as drugs and crime.
How do you prepare for a meeting?
Go to committee meetings, research and get the facts, talk to the residents and listen.
What are the three most important issues currently facing the Town of Wickenburg, and what will you do as a council member to improve upon these issues?
1) Complacency. Talk to residents, start new committees, and start new events.
2) Growth of developments, number of residents, infrastructure, crime drugs.
3) Condonement of the main power structure (management, media, appointees, elected and hired etc.) to blacklist, lie, intimidate and show partiality to one and prejudice to another.
What do you admire or respect about the current council, and in what area do you think the current council falls short?
Nothing. Everything.
Why do you want to be a member of the Wickenburg Town Council?
What makes you think you are qualified?
Please tell the voters why they should elect you.
I was born in an era when we believed in mom, apple pie, a constitutional government and the American Way. Our families just finished the defeat of the evil of World War II. The corruption was there, but we didn’t see it as transparent and thick as it is today.
I came to Wickenburg anxious for a small town atmosphere and found a town divided with one group of the power structure being of the good ol’ boy system with a junior high school mentality and the rest being Americans who still believed in a handshake as true as gold, a good and hard working American way of life and a government that should care about and listen to and follow the will of the people.
I said to myself that when crime comes to my neighborhood I will fight and stand up against it. It has been there all along, I just didn’t know about it. The drug dealer had been sitting at the end of my alley for years. He is now closed down because of a family member charging him with crime, not because the police pursued him and stopped him. Now one of the drug dealers is just across the street from the old one.
I have had too many Wickenburg residents tell me that they gave factual information concerning drug dealers and users and this police chief has never cleaned it up, nor has our Town Council.
The drug committee was formed in 2005. They did absolutely nothing. It was a farce. There are drugs still at our schools, on school buses, skate parks, neighborhoods, at desert parties, etc.
This town is concerned more about the faŤade of the town and cares nothing about the needs of its people.
My reasons and desires for the betterment of Wickenburg begin with caring in my heart, belief in the constitution, too many injustices, increase in crime and drugs, a need to listen to the people, I, being a voice not afraid to speak up for the people, working to bring the Arizona Rangers.
I am fully qualified and the reasons to vote for me are:
1) My vocation
2) Honest, excellent organizer, innovative and full of ideas, hard worker, tremendously motivated, persistent.
3) Enjoy visiting and listening with residents regarding residents
4) Care about the total responsibilities of the job
5) Want to improve the lives of our residents, their safety and their children’s future
6) Work to make Wickenburg self sufficient.
7) I will speak up against the “ruling regime,” and vote against wasteful spending. I will vote against annexation where the majority of those residents don’t want it. I will work to take the power out of the hands of the Town Council and City Manager and place it back with the people. I will work on air pollution and recycling. I will get the people involved in programs beneficial to the town. Place Citizen’s Patrol where they would be best utilized, and see that any police contact with underage teens must be brought to the police station with a volunteer council and their parents. I will make the parks and recreation department a vital source of income to the town and provide entertainment for our residents.
Assuming you go to the poll and vote for yourself, which other two candidates will you vote for any why?
Probably John Cook because I feel he is honest and a good man who believes in God. Waiting for the forum to get an idea of some of the other candidates.
