‘Fringe Festival’ barbecue next weekend

In conjunction with Wickenburg’s first Fringe Festival, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum will be hosting Chuck Wagon barbecue dinners prior to evening performances scheduled at the Del Webb Performing Arts Center.

The exciting lineup of Webb Center performances includes Rex Allen Jr. and the Third Generation on March 6, Baxter Black on March 7, and Daryle Singletary on March 8.

Catered by Valley-famous Whiskey Ranch BBQ in the Museum’s new Charles T. Klein Pavilion, dinners will be served between 5 and 7 p.m. on those three days; and all are invited whether attending a Webb Center performance or not. Diners will have a choice of pulled pork, chicken, hamburgers, barbecue baked beans, potato salad and macaroni salad. Tickets are $20 per person, and include free admission to the Museum.

Reservations for the dinners can be made by calling the Museum at 684-2272,

Ext. 100.

“Don’t feel like you have to restrict yourself to just one dinner, either,” said Museum Executive Director Royce Kardinal. “This could be a great way to get out of cooking for three whole nights!”

Named “2007 - 2008 Western Museum of the Year,” the Desert Caballeros Western Museum is known as Arizona’s Most Western Museum, serving over 52,000 visitors a year by preserving and exhibiting the art and history of the Southwest and desert frontier. The Museum is known for its innovative programming and has an extraordinary collection including Western art and American Indian arts, along with the Hays’ Spirit of the Cowboy Collection, one of the most complete collections of Western artifacts on display in the country. The Museum’s entire lower level is devoted to a re-creation of life in Late Territorial Wickenburg and to a fascinating, permanent exhibit called Out on the Ranch which has been especially created with children in mind. The Museum is located at 21 N. Frontier Street in Wickenburg and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For information, call 684-2272, or visit www.westernmuseum.org.
