Kids' summer food program offered
The Wickenburg Unified School District announced that during the month of June it will offer a free breakfast and lunch program for all children 18 years of age and younger.
To participate children should come to the cafeteria at Hassayampa Elementary School or Wickenburg High School. Hassayampa breakfasts will be seved from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and lunch is served between 11:30 to 12:30. High school times are 7 to 7:45 a.m. for breakfast and 10:45 am to 12:30 for lunch.
Registration or meal tickets are not necessary, and no one will ask for proof of income, residency, or age. Children do not have to be students of the district or attend public schools. The entire program is free to children.
Adult breakfast is $1.50 and adult lunch is $3.00 so feel free to come dine with the children. The school district hopes all of the kids in the community can participate in this program sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Arizona Department of Education, and the Wickenburg Unified School District.
Hassayampa Elementary School is located at 251 S. Tegner St, Wickenburg, call 684-6667. Wickenburg High School is located at 1090 S. Vulture Mine Rd, Wickenburg, call 684-6607.
