Franchised Arctic Cat dealer CycleZone will soon open a retail store at 30341 N.W. Grand Avenue directly across from Arizona Auto Tech. The company presently has stores in Prescott and Glendale.
CycleZone owner Rich Schauwecker grew up in motor sports having been a motocross rider since the age of 10 with a father who owned a motorcycle store. Schauwecker graduated from Arizona State University in 1990 and went on his own with his first store in Prescott in 2002.
The local store will feature the full line of Arctic Cat four wheelers and all-terrain vehicles popular with local enthusiasts. Four wheelers range from those with 90cc engines up to the powerful 700cc machines. While used for recreation, including exploring, hunting, fishing, they are also popular with ranchers, miners, and others whose work takes them to remote or off-road locations.
“These are possibly the most useful motorized vehicle made,” said Schauwecker. “A person can work with one all week long for convenient transportation around yard or ranch and then take it into places where no other vehicle can go for hunting, fishing, or camping over the weekend. They can easily be transported by truck or trailer or we can make any of them street legal so they can go out right from home.”
“Probably the most popular new Arctic Cat product is the Prowler,” continued Schauwecker. “The vehicle is a 641 cc two-person side-by-side ATV with a full canopy top and dump truck-type bed. It's the hottest thing now on the market and we're having a hard time keeping them in the stores.”
In addition to the ATV line, CycleZone will also handle Husqvarna off-road motorcycles along with used ATVs, used street and off-road motorcycles, parts, and accessories. The dealership will also have a complete service department for all types of ATVs and motorcycles.
Schauwecker looks to have an active business in parts, accessories, and tires.
“By having three stores along with a significant Internet business we have great buying power,” said Schauwecker. “We are on the Internet and thus we can and do compete with other Internet dealers along with other in-person dealers throughout the state. We pride ourselves in our attention to servicing our customers along with highly-competitive pricing.”
“We are excited about being in Wickenburg,” continued Schauwecker. “The town is growing, and we know that Wickenburg has a large number of off-road enthusiasts. We are glad to be here, will quickly become active in the community, and look forward to participating in the growth.”
Schauwecker hopes to open the new store in mid August. The local telephone number is 684-0160.
