Guitar recital planned at Pony Espresso

Eleven-year-old Wickenburg student Titan Jones will be performing this Friday evening (Aug. 12) in his debut guitar recital at the Pony Espresso Coffee shop.

Jones, a guitar student of Ed Danks for the past 18 months, will be accompanied by a full house band. Danks has also invited several other local bands and songwriters to showcase their talents in between Ty's recital sets.

Danks' top guitar student is also active in sports, enjoys hunting, dirt bikes and is on the Honor Roll at school.

"He's a pretty amazing kid," Danks said, "His repertoire of songs is staggering for someone his age and with his limited experience."

Musical selections from AC/DC's "Back on Black" to Bill Monroe's "Wabash Cannon Ball" will be presented including several advanced classical guitar pieces.

David and Jennifer Jones, proud parents of Ty, commented that even their younger son, Cade, has recently taken up an interest in following close behind in his brother's footsteps.

The event is being sponsored by Emily Bedoian, owner of the Pony Espresso.

"We'll have the music hot and the cappuccino's iced and ready to go at 7 p.m." Bedoian remarked. "We normally close at 10 p.m. but hey, who knows? We might keep going till midnight if the jam and java last!"
