Local business holds food drive
Curves of Wickenburg, a 30-minute fitness and weight loss facility designed specifically for women featuring the exclusive Curves Workout, has announced its involvement in the Curves Sixth Annual "Food for Friends" nationwide food drive.
During the month of March, Curves Wickenburg will join forces with thousands of other Curves facilities across the nation in the food drive effort by collecting bags of non-perishable groceries that will be donated to local food banks at the end of the month.
New members who join during the week of March 14 and donate a brown bag of non-perishable food items will be entitled to a $0 service fee on the 12-month c.d. program. Existing members who donate food through the month of March will be entered to win raffle prizes.
Non-members are also encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at Curves throughout the month during regular business hours. The total weight of food collected last year for the Food for Friends nationwide food drive weighed more than 3 million pounds.
"This is our third time participating in the Curves Food for Friends program," said Curves Wickenburg owner Shirley McNally. "This year, our donations will benefit local Wickenburg food banks. We are pleased to be able to provide food to the hungry at a time when donations are at their lowest. We are confident that our members will serve as shining examples of charity and kindness in the community."
Curves Wickenburg is located at 628 W. Wickenburg Way in Wickenburg.
