Dante, Bjerke tie the knot in Virginia

Smitha Caroline Dante and Nathan Allan Bjerke were married Jan. 25, 2020, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Richmond, Va., with Fr. Ranjan D’Sa and the Rev. C. Douglas Lovejoy officiating the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Henry and Violet Dante.

The bride attended high school at the former Governor’s School for Government and International Studies in Richmond, Va., (now the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School). She earned her BA in chemistry from Princeton University in 2003 and her MA in chemistry from UC Santa Barbara in 2006. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010. She practices healthcare law in Dallas, Texas. She is the daughter of Henry and Cynthia Dante of Richmond, Va.

The groom is the son of the late Eric Edward Bjerke, and Susan Gant Bjerke, of Wickenburg. He graduated high school from The Gregory School in Tucson. He then earned his BA in Linguistics at the University of Washington. He works in the shipping and logistics industry.

The reception was held at The Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond, where the Foucault pendulum hung as the centerpiece. Timothy Wilson provided live entertainment and DJ services for the reception. Guests were also encouraged to perform karaoke. The couple went on a brief, three-night wedding trip to Chena Hot Springs, Alaska, approximately 60 miles inland from Fairbanks, where they enjoyed the hot springs and were fortunate enough to see the aurora borealis.

The couple resided in Seattle, Wash., until mid-March, when they relocated to Dallas, Texas, for work.
