– that’s the look on Sophie’s face (first photo), as she cruises with owner Claudia Weidmann on Friday evening. Lots of people and pets turned out for the Cruise & Take Out event. The idea is to get out of the house with family members, enjoy cruising in individual vehicles and order take-out from restaurants, while practicing the social distancing norm during the COVID-19 crisis.

For about three hours residents took to the streets with flags flying, horns blowing, hands waving and dogs barking. It seemed everyone was glad to be seeing friends and neighbors – albeit from afar.

The icing on the cake was a large number of classic cars and trucks that attended and made the evening seem extra festive.

Another Cruise & Take Out is scheduled this coming Friday, April 17. See pages A-6 and A-7.
