Learn to ensure advanced care planning wishes are followed.

Hospice of the Valley is hosting a no-cost mini-workshop called “Health Care Decisions: Advance Care Planning” at Wickenburg Community Hospital to help residents understand what is needed for advance care planning.

The mini-workshop is open to everyone in the Wickenburg community. Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. and the program takes place from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 11 in the activity room at Wickenburg Community Hospital, 520 Rose Lane.

Those attending will learn to understand the concepts of a living will and medical power of attorney, recognize the importance of choosing a medical power of attorney, and complete advance directives packets provided at the meeting.

“Everyone is welcome to the no-cost mini workshop to complete their advanced directives at no charge, including a notary service,” said Anne Bash, community liaison for Hospice of the Valley. “We will also photocopy their forms and send them to the state of Arizona for inclusion in the registry.”

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by Monday, Sept. 9 at (928) 668-5510.
