Arizona Game and Fish Department Hunter Education Course are to be offered again this year in July, with volunteer instructor Dan Rigo. The course is free, open to all ages, and family participation is encouraged.  

Class will be held nightly July 8-11 and 15-18, 7-9 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church Hart Education Center, 479 Villa Sereno.  Range day and test is July 20, 6:45-11:30 a.m. at the Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club.  Attendance at all classes (eight in a class plus range day) is required for completion of the course.

The Arizona Hunter Education Class is designed to teach safe handling of firearms and ammunition in the home and the field; safe hunting habits; outdoor ethics; outdoor survival; wildlife management techniques; and more.  

The hunter education course is required by law for youth ages 10 - 14 to hunt big game, and is taught by volunteer instructors certified by AZGFD.
