Have you noticed new home construction in your neighborhood lately? If you have, you are not alone. I believe it’s a good idea to update you on the building growth Wickenburg has experienced over the past year.

To give you an example of recent growth here in Wickenburg, in 2015 the Town of Wickenburg issued 358 total building permits. Of those permits, 74 were for a new single family home. It was a record year in 2019 for total permits issued in Town. We issued 599 permits, and 169 of those permits were for new homes.

It’s obvious to see that there is large amount of building activity occurring in our small town, and the vast majority of it is attributed to Wickenburg Ranch. However, there has been increased building activity from other areas of town.

The economy continues to improve and more and more people have sold their homes and moved to Wickenburg. We are also seeing a lot of property owners increasing their pride of home ownership and remodeling their homes, which increases the value of their property and improves the neighborhood.

With new growth in mind, 2020 is an important year as our country’s decennial census will be conducted. I implore all Wickenburg residents to participate in the 2020 Census as every person counts. If you have any questions in regards to your residency, go to www.census.gov or contact me.

I hope you are proud of living in such a wonderful small town that has so much to offer. Please do your part and welcome your new neighbors and participate in the 2020 Census.
