Wickenburg Conservation Foundation is inviting outdoor enthusiasts to participate in a Desert Survival class from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue building at Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club, 1385 Constellation Road.

Yavapai County Search and Rescue experts will explain what equipment to pack, how to build a shelter, how to start a fire, stay hydrated and other critical skills that will keep a person alive until help arrives.

Arizona Game and Fish department will lead a basic birding class at the Pulte Trail at the end of Kerkes Street from 9-11 a.m., on Saturday. Students ages 8 and older will learn how to use binoculars, identify birds and how to record observations. Loaner binoculars will be available. Both classes are free, but reservations are required and can be made by emailing wickenburgtrails@gmail.com, registering online at www.wickenburgtrails.org/events, or calling (623) 341-5977.
