The Wickenburg Gem and Mineral Society will present its 19th annual gem and mineral show on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The show will be at the Hassayampa Elementary School round gym, 251 S. Tegner St.  Admission is free and the hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday.

The show will feature over 40 vendors with rocks, gems, jewelry, and beads for sale. Other entertainment will include a kid’s area, door prizes, silent auction, raffle, and black light room. Additionally, the society’s Best Rock Contest will be back. Attendees of the show will be invited to vote for their favorite rock.

All proceeds from the show stay right here in the Wickenburg community.  Each year, a $3,000 scholarship is given to a local high school graduate intending to study an earth science.

The club also contributes to Cops Who Care, Friends of the Wickenburg Library, and the Wickenburg High School graduation party.

Raffle prizes this year include a rock tumbler, a rainbow onyx sculpture and turquoise jewelry.  The drawing will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday.  Winners do not have to be present for their prize.
