A WAC artist paintings

A WAC artist paintings that were inspired by a photo taken of a bridge surrounded by trees with bright yellow leaves.

The fifth annual “Double Takes Art Exhibit” will open at a reception from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at the Wickenburg Art Club.

This unique exhibition features the collaboration of photographers and other artists and writers.

The public is invited to attend the reception and exhibit. There is no cost.

WAC members look forward to one evening in the fall where they pick a photographer or writer’s work to act as inspiration for their own creative endeavor.

The artists use any medium to translate the image, including painting, drawing, fiber-art, basketry, clay, poetry, and wood-working.

The results of the collaboration will be exhibited side-by-side in the Main Gallery of the Wickenburg Art Center from Jan. 12 - Feb. 25.

The public is invited to view the results with over 40 pieces on view during the opening reception.

There will be refreshments and readings from Writers’ Guild members. The show continues to run through Feb. 25.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The Wickenburg Art Center at 188 S. Tegner St., two blocks south of the downtown traffic light.
